Singer Rod Stewart, 78, to return to S’pore for two-night concert at Marina Bay Sands in March

SINGAPORE – Veteran British pop and rock singer Rod Stewart will be back in Singapore to perform two concerts at Sands Grand Ballroom at Marina Bay Sands (MBS) on March 16 and 17, 2024.

Tickets from $150 will be available on Nov 9 for pre-sales and Nov 10 for general sales. Fans can register for pre-sale access by signing up as a Sands LifeStyle member at the MBS website (www.marinabaysands.com).

The shows are part of the 78-year-old’s “Live In Concert, One Last Time” Asian tour, which also includes stops in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Tokyo. Singapore is the only Asian city in which he will play two concerts – the other stops feature only single shows.

Stewart says in a statement: “It has been 15 years since my last Asian tour, which is far too long. I truly cannot wait to return with a setlist of all my biggest hits and one of the most extraordinary productions of my career. It’s going to be quite a bash.”

The raspy-voiced star’s previous concerts here were held at the Singapore Turf Club in 1995 and the Singapore Indoor Stadium in 2009.

One of the top-selling musicians of all time, with more than 250 million albums and singles sold worldwide, the icon’s music career kicked off in 1961.

Over the decades, he built up a string of hits, ranging from his renditions of Sailing (1975) and I Don’t Want To Talk About It (1977) to Da Ya Think I’m Sexy? (1978).

He has released 32 albums. The latest, The Tears Of Hercules, dropped in 2021.

Despite the title of his current tour, Stewart says he has no plans to stop singing.

“I shall never retire. I was put on this earth to be a singer and will keep doing so for as long as the good Lord lets me,” he wrote in an Instagram post in June 2023.
