RSG’s Korean Coach Panda savors MPL Hall of Legends inclusion, shares joy with fiancĂ©e and family

He may not be born Filipino, but he’s now a certified legend in the Philippines.

Korean coach Brian “Panda” Lim has found his home away from home here, and his illustrious career in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang professional scene earned him a place in the MPL Philippines Hall of Legends on Sunday.

And he was glad to have someone to share it with as he shared how his fiancée reacted to the news.

“Sabi ko, wala ako pamilya dito sa Pinas. Siya, si Mama and Papa niya are the only family I have right now. Of course when I told her that I’m in the Hall of Legends, she was jumping around. And I really felt like ‘Oh this is my family.’ And I don’t feel lonely anymore,” Panda told the press after receiving the award.

“I was very very surprised. I’m very thankful. Sobrang saya. Kahit hindi ako Filipino nationality I did contribute a lot and that’s why Moonton really recognized me.”

He joined an exclusive club of individuals recognized by the MPL PH community for their stellar play and contribution through its 10-season run.

A former player in the league back in Season 2, Panda is a two-time MPL PH champion coach with ArkAngel in Season 3 and RSG Philippines in Season 9. He also piloted RSG to the MLBB Southeast Asian Cup crown this year.

And even with a long list of achievements under his belt, Panda doesn’t want to stop here.

“I just want to continue coaching. It’s sobrang addictive. In fact two choices, let’s say 50k salary as a coach or 100k salary as an office worker. I would still choose coaching. Because the drama, the emotion, the up and down is sobrang addictive,” he said.

Despite coming up a few wins short of a return to the grand finals and a ticket to the M4 world stage, RSG will remain as a team to look out for in Season 11 under the legendary coach’s tutelage.
