A new Filipino American ice cream concept will open soon in the Mills 50 District.
Sampaguita is putting the finishing touches on a new ice cream shop at 1233 East Colonial Drive.
The shop will specialize in a variety of milk shakes, donuts, ice creams, and other desserts that feature south Asian ingredients including ube (purple yam), coconut, jasmine tea, and kalamansi nectar, among multiple others.
Sampaguita, or the Arabian jasmine, is the national flower of the Philippines.
The business, which is a sister concept of the Greenery Creamery, is currently hiring in anticipation of opening its doors next month.
Sampaguita joins multiple other restaurants that have opened their doors in and around the Mills 50 District in recent months.
That includes Plantees, an all-vegan burger and shake shop that opened this past spring, as well as Framework Coffee, which celebrated its grand opening in October. Just down the road, Paris Baguette also celebrated its grand opening this fall.
