AOMG Delivers Above The Ordinary Concert Through “Follow The Movement” In Manila

The AOMG crew left its Filipino fans in awe during their Follow The Movement Concert in Manila held last weekend!

Simon Dominic, LOCO, GRAY, Lee Hi, YUGYEOM, and Woo spent an evening full of fun and music with their Filipino fans in their recently held concert, AOMG World Tour 2023: Follow The Movement in Manila!

Despite the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the artists from the Korean hip-hop label made sure that all the attendees had the best time. They threw a 4-hour-long party with a setlist that consists of some of their greatest hits.

AOMG World Tour 2023: Follow The Movement in Manila was presented by one of the renowned concert organizers in the country, Pulp Live World. It took place on January 15 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. Aptly described by Pulp, the concert was a “show that’s definitely above the ordinary.”

Highlights

WOO AND HIS ENERGETIC SETLIST

The AOMG crew kicked off the festivities with an energetic opening from Woo. He was a last-minute addition to the Asia leg of the tour but he went above and beyond with his stage charisma and talents.

As soon as his name appeared on the huge screen onstage, the crowd filled the venue with loud chants and cheers. Donning a simple sleeveless shirt with a beanie on his head, Woo looked cool as ever while performing his first song of the night “R.I.P.”

There couldn’t have been a better act to have opened the much-awaited concert other than Woo. He commands attention like no other and he knows how to set the mood of the night.

After asking the crowd to jump or scream his name louder, he went on to perform his three other amazing tracks “Pop It,” “Devil,” “Chik Chik Pok Pok,” “Chingiz Khan,” and “Me.” At the end of his set, the spectators had big smiles on their faces as they anticipate the next artists who will set the stage on fire.

LEE HI LEAVING FANS ON A HIGH

With a clear aim to make a mark, Lee Hayi, better known as Lee Hi, then took the Philippine stage for the first time. Unlike Woo, the 26-year-old female singer began her set on a soft note, serenading her Filipino fans with her heartfelt tracks “Only,” “Breathe,” and “Savior.”

It may be different from the mood the first act has shown but Lee Hi’s diverse discography never felt out of place. She instantly captured fans’ hearts with her soothing and unique voice, proving to everyone why she is one of the best vocalists in the Korean music industry.

“You guys are our real fans,” the female artist emphasized during her brief ment.

Slowly, Lee Hi switched the vibe into a much more lively one with her tracks “Rose,” “H.S.K.T,” and “1,2, 3,4.” She also did not forget to groove and interact with the attendees with the crowd favorites “Red Lipstick” and “No One.”

LOCO GOING CRAZY WITH HIS PERFORMANCES

LOCO is one of the night’s most anticipated performers and he did not disappoint. His setlist was filled with so much intensity and excitement. This was enhanced by his overflowing stage presence and cool aura.

He opened his set with fiery songs “Party Band,” “Sweaty, and “MBTI,” which are, no doubt, impressive choices for such a wonderful night. Shortly after, LOCO greeted everyone and complimented his PH fans saying, “Filipinos are the best. Thank you so much!”.

While asking fans to jump and have fun with him, the rapper declared a full-blown party with his tracks “Too Much,” “Somebody!,” “Like Water,” “OPPA,” and “It Takes Time.” Amid all the chaos, LOCO threw his clothes to the side and even splashed water on the crowd while performing “ON It + BO$$” and “No Manners.”

Of course, he did not miss his chance to pull the heartstrings of fans with the mellow track “Don’t,” which he sang with famous K-Pop artist Hwasa, and his famous OST from Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo titled “Say Yes.”

After hearing that it is incredibly famous in the Philippines, he made fans sing the latter and was surprised how everyone knew the chorus by heart. Loco could not help but smile at the sight of the crowd singing one of his greatest releases and promised fans to sing the full song in the encore.

GRAY EMBODYING THE WORD “TALENT”

Anyone who listens to Korean R&B and hip-hop music knows that GRAY is one of the best artists out there. He is known for his diverse music style and for leaving a whisper at the beginning of the tracks he produces.

Ushering everyone into the latter part of the evening, the Korean hip-hop artist welcomed everyone with the track “Dream Chaser,” before diving into his lively tracks “Show Window,” TMI,” and “Summer Night.”

He made sure to interact with fans as well through the tracks “Close 2 U,” “Moon Blue,” and “Baby Don’t Cry.” GRAY asked the crowd to continue the words on his track, giving everyone a memorable time.

The artist’s set would not be complete without him playing the melodica. He used it as an accompaniment to his performance of “Lose Control,” making fans’ hearts go crazy. GRAY ended his presentation with the songs “Stay The Night,” “U,” and “Just Do It,” which he sang with labelmate LOCO.

The rapper embodied the word “all-rounder” with his entire set, moving so effortlessly between singing, rapping, and playing an instrument.

YUGYEOM AND HIS EFFORTLESS PRESENCE

It’s Yugyeom’s second time performing in Manila as a soloist but he never misses. He performed at the same venue and presented a similar setlist during the Manila stop of his solo tour in August 2022, but he looked much cooler and more confident this time around. With his impressive singing and dancing skills, he swiftly gave his PH fans a memorable night.

Yugyeom began his music party with the tracks “Want U Around” and Take You Down.” As he looks over the crowd with admiration, the artist showcased his effortless aura and smooth moves.

Afterward, he sang “Lights” and “All About U” with LOCO. He did not miss a chance to get closer to fans and wave his hands as if he thanked his fans wholeheartedly for coming. Switching up the mood a little bit, Yugyeom performed “Running Through The Rain,” and “All Your Fault,” both of which are made in collaboration with GRAY.

Prior to presenting his last two songs of the night “Love The Way,” and “Ponytail,” the artist showcased his precise and graceful moves through his quick dance break.

SIMON DOMINIC AS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT

Perhaps the biggest performer of the night, Simon Dominic took the AOMG stage to another level with his setlist. The veteran hip-hop act showed everyone how it is done with his tracks “DAx4,” “POSE!” and “Room Type.”

When the instrumental to his self-titled track played, the crowd went wild, leaving loud screams and chants everywhere. Simon Dominic then performed a mashup of his famous tracks “Ya Ain’t Gang,” “GOTT,” “I’MMA Do,” “Party Forever,” “GO,” and “WON & ONLY.” Before belting out the lyrics to his song “WIFEY,” the rapper acted as if he is searching for a wife in the crowd.

During his ment, Simon Dominic shared that he felt so good to see his fans enjoying his music with him. He even called every single member of the audience “Maganda,” which translates to “beautiful” in English.

Despite his playful demeanor, the rapper exuded a warm aura on stage. His spiels were the most entertaining out of the bunch and he seemed like a friend whom you can joke around with comfortably.

Tracks such as “At Night,” “make her dance,” “MOMMAE,” and “Comfortable” served as his last batch of tracks for the night.

A MOMENTOUS CONCLUSION

The encore of the Follow The Movement in Manila was one for the books. Simon Dominic, LOCO, Lee Hi, GRAY, Yugyeom, and Woo gathered together for a grand finale that fans would remember for the rest of their lives.

Together, they performed many collaboration tracks they produced between themselves and the label while interacting with everyone in the crowd. LOCO and Simon Dominic even came to the back part of the venue to closely greet and thank fans who have patiently waited for them to come to the Philippines.

They treated fans with their encore songs, namely, “119 REMIX,” “UPSIDE DOWN,” “TTFU,” “Party for the Night,” “ON AIR,” “We Are,” and “Who You.”

Four hours went by so fast during the concert but the AOMG crew gave a well-thought-out set without even breaking a sweat. The artists did an awesome job keeping people entertained and immersed in what was happening on stage.

If you were to ask what made the event so memorable, it would be the performers’ passionate reactions, memorable stages, and genuine encounters with fans.
